Real butterfly wings are used after their natural passing to create this wearable art. Nothing is done to harm the butterfly. The wings are acquired from butterfly preservation farms and information cards will be included with each order.
This beautiful Cithaerias Merolina butterfly is approximately 2.25" x 2.25". The wings are either finished in a thick lamination (similar to the thickness of card stock paper), or coated in a jeweler's grade resin (approximately 1/8" thick with a glossy look). They are durable, lightweight, and waterproof.
The necklace chain is an 18" high quality stainless steel snake chain with a 1" adjustable extender chain in the back. Stainless steel is safe to wear for anyone with metal allergies and will not tarnish.
